It's pretty obvious that there's a nasty thread of racism behind the flags but it's also pathetic. If you actually care about your community go and volunteer at a local charity! Don't put stuff up on lamp posts that will go ragged and annoy people ffs. 🤦‍♀️

I'm definitely here for shameless self-promotion @jeremyjenkins.net. As my friend @laurahallain.bsky.social always reminds me, 'it ain't boasting if you can back it up'.
A tiny bit of shameless self-promotion because the gifting season is creeping up on us. If you’re after something delicious, handcrafted, and ethical, my chocolate boxes, bars, and treats make really lovely gifts. Treat yourself, treat someone else, or both, I won’t judge! Reshares appreciated! 🍫✨

Sorry to keep banging on about it but it's literally *they are on Twitter and think it's the majority view*
This is pretty striking and makes me wonder exactly what Labour have been up to in making policy seemingly in response to / fear of the former rather than the middle group.

Most of the public know what’s going on with flags on lamp posts.

Crucially for the government, 78% of its 2024 voters think anti-minority sentiment is involved in flying England flags (versus just 15% who think it’s just a national pride thing).

They are getting the politics of this all wrong.

We lost my uncle last night. He was in his 90s and frail but thankfully he died at home with my mum and my cousin there. Planning to hold our family tight this Christmas. ♥️

All of this thread. ⬇️
If, as someone still supporting Labour, you genuinely want to avoid a Reform government, stop complaining about people calling out Labour's inhumane policies and start challenging those policies. Otherwise, first off, all you are doing is increasing the salience of Reform's arguments. 3/

Trump in a room with a very charismatic person results in like half a day of Trump agreeing with everything that person said, so this has the potential to be very, very funny.

What a goddamn legend. Every big tough conservative masculinity guy has been crying about how terrifying cities are to live in for the past two years and now Trump wants to move back to NYC
Reporter to Trump: Would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani mayoralty?

Trump: "I would. I really would. Especially after the meeting, absolutely."
November 21, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Handy summary. Taken down by a charming socialist. 🤷‍♀️
Trump is utterly charmed; Mamdani convinced him that all they both want is for NY to be great; Trump is defending Mamdani from loaded questions by his pet reporters and wants to be his best friend.

what I need people to know about “whence” is that you don’t also need to say “from.” you can simply command them to return whence they came. let us be brief with our banishments
"Whence" is sadly under-utilized as a word.

Just had a lovely chat with the uni kid who has been volunteering at a food bank in between writing essays. Young people are great! ☺️

🌱 The variety is vif d'etampes.
Apparently they were putting pumpkins in the food bank deliveries today along with a soup recipe which I think is a great idea. We've still got one more giant pumpkin to get through having eaten one and gifted another to preschool. Definitely growing these again next year! #allotment

It's very hard to understand how we've ended up with so many quite frankly psychotic men in positions of ultimate power. Hence why we need universities, I guess, because I'm mostly baffled. 😒
