Well travelled Brummie happily living in Scotland since 2012. Loves the coast, mountains, wild places, hence photography. I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi. Armchair follower of politics. Treasurer, Cowal Camera Club. All images are mine except re-posts.

Recently I've experimented with Intentional Camera Movement, ICM, a camera process that conveys the atmosphere and emotions I felt at the time. Here in the #OuterHebrides it was the sunset reflecting on the gentle waves.

I can watch waves breaking on the shore for hours. Hand held long exposure from last November. Just one of the large sandy bays on the north-west of #Lewis

I couldn't resist a photo of these unusually coloured and shaped coastal rocks on the Isle of #Sanday, #Orkney Outgoing tide had left behind small pebbles making a contrasting composition. One that gave me a surprising win at my camera club. 👍😁

To celebrate one year of #BlueSkyArtShow. Glorious late afternoon light on a stormy day on the isle of #Lewis recently. I had little time to dash to the car before the rain arrived.

On my way to a beach near Leverburgh, on South Harris, this #silhouette of houses along the Northton road, and distinctive outline of Ceapabhal hill stopped me in my tracks. Taken on November trip to #OuterHebrides

Ardalanish Beach on the island of #Mull is a haven for interesting rocks. This small stream finds a way through at low tide.

Spot the upturned sea shell amongst the amazing tidal beach patterns found at Seilebost beach on Harris. A phone image taken last Monday. Heading there again today. ❤️

Such a treat to be on Lewis and Harris when snow storms pass through. A phone image until I get home. Since Sunday, we've had calm sunshine, rainbows, freezing wind, intense white snow clouds. Just perfect for an already photogenic island.

Rhue #Lighthouse guards the entrance to Loch Broom and Ullapool, on the far north west of #Scotland. This image was taken on a dreich day in June this year, though overall we've had a great summer. 😁

The Kyle of Durness on the North-West Scottish coast, produces fascinating patterns on its sandbanks at low tide. A burst of evening sunlight penetrates the gloom inland.

Pink and Blue Hour on a Northumberland beach. A hand held long exposure rather than true ICM late one evening, to portray a soft, painterly mood. Just booked a week back here for next February.

Still feels like summer here in Dunoon, but foliage starting to turn.
#Scape taken a few years ago overlooking the Crinan Canal in Argyll and Bute. The 9 mile long canal, opened in 1801, provides a navigable route to cut off the long sail around the Kintyre Peninsula.

It’s gone so quickly from ‘boat people’ to all immigrants. So quickly from ‘I don’t mind if they come here legally and pay taxes’ to ‘actually it’s anyone foreign’. We are living in the ‘first they came for’ poem. All to give the population a scapegoat so the super rich can hoard yet more wealth.
