While privately renting in 2012 I complained to my Lib Dem MP about the huge drop to the 30th percentile of local rents, and the supposed availability of minimal rents that were non-existent. The response from a gov minister was evasive and dismissive. I moved. This is still devasting lives.

You weren't wrong. I had the same hopes. Sadly, people's capacity to forget or blame others, is never-ending. Especially when politically convenient scapegoats are offered as an alternative to major changes. It's easier and more convenient.
