I have been expecting and preparing for a significant increase in the number of outbreaks of vaccine-preventable disease before the RFK Jr. insanity ends.

I’m keeping my vaccinations up to date for as long as I can, wearing a mask indoors in public, filtering the air, and washing my hands.

It doesn’t hurt that there were massive dumpsters full of stuff for protestors to play with but the consideration to grab things at all - those instincts were like the guiding light of god shining down on people. It wasn’t chaos for the sake of it. It was tactical, strategic, intentional.

Instead, demonstrators spent today jamming up operations for ICE and the NYPD.

Both were caught pretty flat footed and even when they deployed crowd control techniques, nobody really cared?? It wasn’t a surge of surprise and outrage at people being grabbed. It was a hefty “Fuck that and fuck you.”

The vibe shift today is, I think, due to the fact that New Yorkers were on the offensive instead of the defensive.

Usually with protests, demonstrators have to defend the space, defend their right to march, etc. They get beat up and pushed around and antagonized into chaos and trauma.

Streaming the Trey Anastasio Band show from The Beacon and one of those gut punches of remembering 5yrs ago when he played to an empty theater every Friday night in the fall.

It was dark days and coming together virtually was so important, a shared experience when we weren’t leaving the house.

More than 1000 kids died from Covid in 2020-2022, and nearly 6 million have long covid. I don’t have kids, but this government is trying to kill yours.

Stop collaborating by downplaying Covid as a risk.
Vinay Prasad of the FDA claims that he has proof that 10 children died from COVID19 vaccines, so the FDA will now target flu shots, look at whether people should receive multiple vaccines at the same time, and make the vaccine approval process significantly more difficult.
FDA to impose strict new vaccine requirements, claiming child covid shot deaths
Vinay Prasad, the nation’s top vaccine regulator, said his team concluded that coronavirus shots were linked to children’s deaths, necessitating a new approach.

i see this every day as a home health OT. just last week i arrived to a visit with a patient on the floor. took 30+ min and min assist to get safely to a seat, and if i hadn’t had a visit w them that day they’d have been waiting 4+ hours for a caregiver or family to arrive
Friends. There is another healthcare crisis behind the scenes.any elderly and disabled are in need of home health aides.
There is a shortage. Those that do home care are afraid of going to work.
People are sitting in their waste waiting for someone to show up.
ICE is to blame.
