Went out last night to celebrate my upcoming milestone birthday and drank more at dinner than I have in the last 3 months combined. And woke up feeling fine. And yet most nights when I go out late and drink no booze I wake up feeling like I have a hangover. It’s a Christmas/Birthday miracle!

You’ve just died.
The 6th picture in your phone gallery is what killed you.

So my love of screenshotting silly memes to send to friends will get me in the end. Good to know 😆🤣

It seems after a decade of not being able to handle scary/horror movies/TV, I have regained enough comfort with the genre. So, I have just watched all 4 seasons of Stranger Things in the last two weeks. Just in time for the final season.

Landlords want permission to evict people without cause (who have faithfully paid their rent) so they can jack up the rent and make more money.

The Ford government is planning to give it to them.

This is going to evict so many people into homelessness, especially seniors. Truly sociopathic.
“We’ve heard from stakeholders that these evergreen leases that just go on with no end in sight may not be appropriate.”

I have some retired family members who can only afford rent right now because they're on old leases. But to hell with them! Think of the stakeholders! 🤮

Proposed changes from the Ontario government would drastically reduce protection for tenants.

This is appalling and would put some folks in serious danger in this era of very low vacancy, skyrocketing rental rates, and rent decontrol.

Nearly 40% of Ottawa residents are renters.

In Canada:

80% of educators have witnessed misogyny in classrooms, including disrespect toward women and unhealthy stereotypes.

67% have seen incel-influenced beliefs linked to real-world gender-based violence.

Never mind 'Male Loneliness Epidemic'. THIS is what needs attention.

i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.
This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

CLARIFICATION :

The Trevor Project's hotline will still be live. But basically this means LGBTQ people can no longer be connected to it through the US national 988 suicide prevention hotline.

They will need to be contacted DIRECTLY

So spread this around

They can be texted. They can be called.
