Hey Canadian media ... "born as a biological male" is not the move when you're reporting on what happened in Tumbler Ridge.

Here's is the @transjournalists.org Style Guide if you are covering this story today

I am confused by the things this RCMP spokesman won't comment on and the information he is giving out – like the actual address

What I always find fascinating about speed skating is the lactic acid talk of how much pain they must be in

Now that I know the Canadian goalie once missed out because of the fucking beep test I am rooting even harder for her

It just occurred to me that if the US tries to invade during either of the gold medal hockey games at the Olympics we might be screwed.

I mean, I'm watching on a 13" laptop screen and I could see that offside

I have never been so utterly terrified of untied shoelaces as I was watching the Canadian in the men's short program

I love that I've got the Olympics streaming and I just saw an ad for books.

Just books.

One of my hearing aids has stopped working - is it better to wear one working one or none at all?

Sorry, the theme is 90s and two different dance teams went with Ricky Martin?
February 9, 2026 at 6:48 PM
CBC's commentator at the figure skating just called 90s music 'golden oldies' and I'm going to need a minute

I know there's a lot of talk about the framing around car accidents, especially when drivers hit cyclists and pedestrians. This framing caught my attention:

"A driver has been charged following a near-collision with a child in a stroller on Thursday morning in Kanata, according to Ottawa police."

"Suspected" political message.

We're so mad about Spanish we're not even going to bother.
Fox tears are my Ozempic. I feel skinnier already.

Forgive me my rants BlueSky, I have been sick for a week and haven't been able to eat solid food since last Saturday

I am on a MacBook, running the most up to date OS, and my Internet is beyond pathetic. I looked it up, this is a known issue. I have tried all the tricks, I have contacted Apple support, and I still can't reliably stream a show on this laptop. I'm so infuriated. Mac's used to be so good.

Meals that restaurants have killed that I still think about:

1) Raspberry 4 Lucie, Cora's

They took this off the menu once and so many people asked for it that they brought it back, only to kill it again.

A strange mix of crepes, cream cheese, honey and raspberries that was healthy and delicious

Did I just somehow completely miss the women's skate in the team competition?

I love watching Olympic sports when the announcers get really excited

Watching Canada curl and chants of U-S-A ring out from the crowd (presumably playing on another sheet) and it just feels kind of gross

"Who's the audience?"
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

"And how does that make your feel?"

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would be speaking to the Muppet - probably crying.

Also maybe the Muppets have the capacity to save the world.
the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style
MY KIDS: so why are there muppets in the AUDIENCE

ME: THE CONCEIT!! IS THAT THEY'RE PUTTING ON A VARIETY SHOW!!! IN A WORLD WHERE MUPPET AND HUMAN COEXIST!!! YOU ARE WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY!! FILMED!! IN REAL TIME!!!

Two things I’m not sure is widely understood:

1. Many public servants no longer have their own desks and work in transient government co-working spaces

2. Many describe a Kafkaesque existence of going to physical offices only to spend their time on video calls with the people sitting next to them
Federal public servants called back to office 4 days a week starting this summer | CBC News
The federal government expects its employees to return to in-office work for a minimum of four days a week starting this July.

All of these Europeans speak multiple languages and North American's stand on the sidelines shouting 'What?'

I just saw a woman with a sticker on her face that said 'Team Korea.'

Why would that be in English?
One of the things about watching Eurovision, now the Olympics, is just how much they cater to English.
