A good post from the tumble, esp in regards to anything with art. Studying new concepts and techniques is the most fun when you can do it like a dog chewing and shaking a new toy around until you can rip out the squeaker and run through the house triumphantly going SQUIKSQUIKSQUIKSQUIK
Tumblr post from macyvermedical: Took me until about halfway through college before I realized "study" means "fplay with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it" and not just "read the assigned chapters and do the homework" and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.

One of my favorite hobbies is putting personal characters into fictional worlds and flesh out who they’d be. This time around it’s Planet Gunsmoke from the anime Trigun (1998), while I adore the manga and like Stampede, my heart will always be in the Anime series. So have a Trigun Zeia #art :D

Not dressing up when you go out on Halloween is probably against the law or something. What if Douglas is arrested? Gustopher: But you have to dress up to go out on Halloween night! Douglas: I don't go out. Panel 3 Gustopher is baffled! How is Douglas going to go trick-or-treating if he doesn't go out? What is happening? Gustopher: BUT HOW DO YOU GO TRICK-OR-TREATING? Halloween Costume Plans - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 August and Gustopher are out shopping when they notices a Halloween display. Gustopher is instantly excited about Halloween coming up. Gustopher: DAD! Halloween is coming! August: It is! Panel 2 August has been planning to make this year more exciting. August: Since your taco costume was cheap last year, I think we should go big this time! What do you want to be? Panel 3 Gustopher contemplates the choices with his hands to his side. Unrelated, but he's wearing his Sweater that says Sweater. It's a spin off of the Shirt Shirts but they haven't been quite as popular. People say that the Clothing Clothing company has sold out and they're just in it for the money. Anyway, various ideas swirl around Gustopher's head. Including Vampire, Super hero, ghost, copyright infringement, space marine, lamp, and banana. Two names in the corner are slight obscured. They seem to say Adam Tots and Hollering Elk. Could be something else. I guess we'll never know. Panel 4 After some careful considering, Gustopher knows exactly what he wants to be. Gustopher: I wanna be a taco again! August: Really? Are you sure? Gustopher: TACO! TACO! TACO!

Polly and Olivia Make Dinner (Part 3) Transcript Panel 1 Penelope arrives hope after having to unexpectedly work late. She walks into the door exhausted but fully prepared to make dinner for her daughters. Penelope: GIRLS! I'm home. Polly: Mom, please don't be upset. Panel 2 Polly, Olivia, and Gwen are setting the dinner table. Olivia is holding some form of burrito and Gwen has a salad. Polly wants to get the bad news out of the way. Olivia is rapidly calculating the possible consequences for everything that has happened tonight. Gwen is feeling incredibly awkward. That kind of awkward where you know your friend might be getting into trouble but you know you won't. One of the worst types of awkward. Polly: We- I tried making dinner. I ruined a pot and made a mess. Gwen helped up make something. Panel 3 Polly: I'll clean everything. I'm sorry. Penelope (Quietly): You made dinner? Penelope is suddenly overwhelmed with emotion. Polly has shown very little interest in cooking and she would never have expected her to take on the task herself. Panel 4 Penelope sweeps Polly up into a hug. She is so happy to have such helpful daughters and that her daughters have a friend who would go out of her way to help them. Penelope: I don't deserve such wonderful daughters. Olivia: We're not grounded! Gwen is still feeling awkward but it's now a much more relaxed form of awkward.
