I liked Dunkelman's book but this op-ed is based on the same fallacy that leads some people to think fascist Italy and Germany were models of efficient administration.
There is such a thirst in some progressive centrist circles that they will look at the Trump administration as a model to get things done. I think its worth addressing the argument. This is from Mark Dunkelman, author of the widely praised "Why Nothing Works."

The Times adjusted it's headlines, but not until after other media started reporting the links as factual using the Times.

How comfortable should editors be with headlines that amplify the claims of an unverified claim, not subject to peer review, by a known vaccine skeptic?

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

This!!You expressed perfectly what I was trying to tell the author of that piece tonight. It not enough to say RFKJr challenged scientific orthodoxy or consensus ( the word she changed it to). That’s not good enough. Kennedy is going against scientific fucking FACT. There is nothing to debate.
It’s good to explain that the CDC is lying and vaccines still unequivocally do not cause autism, even if it just reaches one person on here who has doubts. But the fight is out there, not in here; and the time to let go of the information deficit model of science communication was decades ago
