SO ANYWAYS cutting trans care from Medicaid is going to be a ripple effect that will give private insurers a reason to stop providing trans care as well, this is an attempt to end all insurance for trans care for everyone in the US

maybe there was actually a pretty good reason for the 14th amendment to have banned insurrectionists who tried to overthrow the government from serving in government and the decision to just decide it was a dead letter and ignore it was a horrible mistake?

Trans folk, indigenous folk, black folk, immigrants, whether documented or not, and everyone else need to see and hear your love AND support more than ever. This means calling reps and telling them to fight for all of us, it means building community and doing stuff to support those being victimized

I really hope Minnesota does right and sides against transphobia! If the MN supreme court says "she's a woman, it doesn't matter whether she has advantages or not", i think that would be really important for trans people across the usa to hear

There are very few people in this country who deserve the horrors Trump is going to unleash on us and I think it would be smart for people to remember our humanity especially as people start to fall away from Trump and the movement as the punches start to land.

Its kinda cliche, but hate and fear are two sides of the same coin, they feed each other. Acting out of a sense of revenge will always lead to more pain. Acting out of panic will lead to more panic. They are reactionary, and following them leads to being a reactionary, a fascist.

Related to what's going on in South Korea, and the USA for that matter, its important to recognize that law doesn't have any intrinsic value. Law is a tool to (de)legitimize an action or stance, but the law is ignorable.

I think its very silly that we have to pay to use mass transit. If its free, it makes things simpler, and more people will use it for more things. That further helps to justfy its existence so that we get more and better public transit and replace cars and car infrastructure

remember that buying into doomerism just helps ensure doom is found. it demoralizes you, and even if you continue to try to prevent doom, it makes it hard to be creative or to work as hard on dealing with issues. find stuff that brings you joy and gives you hope. mental health is important

I need to remember to use the local public library more. Like, i know they loan stuff more than books, but i dont know what all. But also, more importantly, its a public indoor spot anyone can use. I really wanna see about starting a trans story hour or monthly meetup for trans folk

I think the conversation regarding trans people in sports is kinda misguided. Generally people act like the question is at least genuine and accept the framing, responding "trans women haven't been shown to be a danger or have an advantage. Also, there are so few of them. Why bother?"

I saw a post about "if a man said that, everyone would be furious" and i guess a lot of people dont think about power dynamics or history that inform certain expectations or reactions.

Just a reminder that accusing people of being jewish is antisemitic, as is assuming that jews are monolithic, as is assuming jews are loyal to Israel. Bigotry is bad, dont do it
