I always disliked Trump, but straight up, I did not appreciate how ramped up Trump 2 would be from Trump 1. I must acknowledge that others had more accurate understanding of the world than me in this regard. Their predictions were on-target as I rolled my eyes, to their credit and my chagrin.

lately I cannot recommend 'The Utopia of Rules' by Graeber often enough. The first two essays were absolutely formative for me and make sense of the cliches about bureaucracy Project 2025 is weaponizing right now

I get why everyone is cringing at the New Yorker AI essay but I've noticed that the point some critics are most excited to make is that they simply don't reach for the crutch of AI in their practice; it's not useful or impressive to them; it's dumb to learn from it or even be amused by it, etc
