For the record, the crossing guard shift lasts half an hour and the traffic consistently clears up in the first 10 minutes. There is plenty of actual downtime in which I can responsibly post a report.

Crossing guard report: saw a car today so completely covered in stickers I have no idea what color its paint is. Selfishly wanted to keep it stopped forever to see more kids react to it, but listened to my better angels in the end and let it move along. Godspeed, sticker car.

Crossing guard report: an egret was standing so still in someone’s yard across the street that I had to wait for it to turn its head to determine whether it was a lawn ornament or a real bird. It eventually got up on the roof, which definitively settled that.
