I know it’s practically common knowledge at this point, but PLEASE do not use DiVine when it drops. Even without the ai slop it’s time has passed, and if we stand together and refuse to interface, they don’t have clean reference material to use for more slop based on our work. Refuse submission.

the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you

A lot of people celebrating "Toy Story" and its impact today and one thing I will never forget about seeing the movie on original release is the opening logo. Seeing the familiar Disney castle rendered like this blew me away.

30 years ago today, Toy Story was released in theaters. On top of being a great movie in itself, it's one of the very few movies in history like this that its impact forever changed not just animation, but the entirety of cinema. Even back in 1995, everyone knew that Toy Story was a game-changer.

Crazy that A24 went through the trouble of picking up Ne Zha 2 and producing a dub only to not bother submitting it for Best Animated Feature.
I think Ketchup made a mistake giving Day the Earth Blew Up a qualifying run last year. Had a better shot this year.
