Greetings from other websites!

I guess since wandering moots are I might as well introduce myself. My name is Ryan, and my interests - and 85% of my posts - are pop culture news/history in general with a focus on animation, comic strips, and Muppets.

Sometimes I draw. More often I make bad jokes.

Striking while the iron is…lukewarm, I suppose. Despite Labubu’s 15 minutes of fame pretty much having come and gone, Sony Pictures has inked a deal with Pop Mart to adapt the dolls into a film. As the deal was signed this week no other details are set. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

Look, everyone needs a Wario to even things out. A former Disney Channel star got praised for founding a space tech company, so fate forced another one to found an AI company that makes avatars out of dead people. That’s just the way the world works.

“Reviews are coming in from New York and they all say the same thing - why were the Muppets second fiddle to a magician nobody’s heard of? They only got ten minutes of stage time!”

“Ten minutes? If you ask me, that’s ten minutes too many!”

“DOH HOH HOH HOH HOH!”

The theory that many (including myself) had that today’s Mario movie trailer release was an emergency response to the Pillsbury supermarket listings seems to not be the case as a certain dinosaur was nowhere to be seen. Just more proof you can never guess what Nintendo’s doing…

The Paul Zaloom of the what, where, and whom, the one, the only, the Beakman.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but all four seasons of Beakman's World are on Tubi.

One of the best science shows for kids ever produced and one that definitely should be mentioned alongside Mr. Wizard, 3-2-1 Contact, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Frankenstein’s Monster went to medical school for the sole purpose of being called “Dr. Frankenstein” and really mess with those smug “Frankenstein was the doctor, not the monster” folks

I find it amazing how much the situation with Kpop Demon Hunters mimics that of Star Wars: an under-the-radar film that grew through word of mouth that no one wanted the toy license for, thus ensuring toys miss the lucrative Christmas season

Will we get ersatz fill-ins?

Netflix will pay Sony a portion of the “Kpop Demon Hunters 2” production budget and grant them royalties on soundtrack sales and publishing rights to certain songs

Sony was also granted an additional $15mil for the original meaning they earned $40mil for a film that cost $100mil

Pig PR pre-Jennifer Lawrence: in 1990 the Henson Company planned a year-long media blitz to promote the opening of Muppet*Vision 3D, a Christmas special, and a 1991 movie with Miss Piggy announcing her breakup with Kermit and demanding an unauthorized biography cease publication.

Although it’s probably the weakest part of the otherwise well-put-together package film Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters (one of the last projects Mel Blanc voiced before his death), the short “Night of the Living Duck” contains a rogue gallery of movie monsters at a nightclub and yes, The Fly is there
