Greetings from other websites!

I guess since wandering moots are I might as well introduce myself. My name is Ryan, and my interests - and 85% of my posts - are pop culture news/history in general with a focus on animation, comic strips, and Muppets.

Sometimes I draw. More often I make bad jokes.
I still contend that the best explanation of Muppet Kayfabe was the explanatory note that appeared in the first draft for The Muppet Movie

Caroline Cash finally tackles The Three Rocks with as much equal reverence and tongue-in-cheekiness as those who initially made them a meme. I actually think this metaphor is rather cute.

If people are having such a reaction to Yoshi doing the very thing he was designed to do and has done in every single one of his appearances then maybe it’s a relief we’ll probably never get a Pac-Man movie

The death of Dilbert creator Scott Adams in January at age 68 was followed by obituaries with a predictably wide range in tone. While some were charitable to the late cartoonist, most were less forgiv...

I do know MeTV prime shows A Boy Named Charlie Brown and Snoopy Come Home (the only two films owned by CBS Studios) every year around Charles Schulz’s birthday.

The Apple deal doesn’t expire until 2030 but hopefully the Peanuts specials get a more accessible home after then.
Hopefully that means the classic specials will finally escape AppleTV jail.

C'mon bring them and the Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show over to MeTV Toons, they'll be right at home there.
Expect to see more of Snoopy and company as they join the Sony family. CFO Lin Tao stated that Sony Pictures’s film and TV outlets will “make the Peanuts IP more accessible to a wider audience and share its charm with people all over the world.” variety.com/2026/film/ne...

Remember when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert did a bit about how Democrats are out of touch with today’s youth when it comes to memes and they’d stoop to “Skibidi Biden” and everyone thought it was a hackneyed bit?

It somehow ended up coming true and much stupider.

Best revelation so far in Keza MacDonald’s “Super Nintendo”: Metroid’s heroine got her name because Hiroji Kiyotake was convinced Pelé’s real name was Samus Arantes Nasicmentos. It was, in fact, Edson Arantes do Nascimento.

It’s never been officially confirmed, but many people feel that “Flaming Moe’s” was The Simpsons subtly commenting on Sam Simon’s reaction to how the press initially depicted Matt Groening as the sole genius who invented The Simpsons, with Homer as Simon and Moe as Groening.
Simpsons may have been Matt's idea and concept but it was given life by a lot of people who aren't as creepy as he is.

I credit Sam Simon more with the Simpsons we got more than Groening.
