I'm just a guy that likes talking about animation.

Pssst. Sony, there's that Black Knight film that he shared footage of. Maybe you should look into that. Also, maybe dust that Matt Braly film off the shelf while you're at it. (walks away)

I'm a firm believer in second chances and I do believe animated films that were at one point scrapped should at least be given a new chance because it's always unfair they get thrown out. As the saying goes, if at first you don't succeed, try try again. It should happen.

Massive hug incoming.

It was….sigh.

I’m very disappointed to hear that Sony Pictures Animation has scrapped Matt Braly’s film. Honestly, I’m baffled they scrapped it thinking it “wasn’t commercial” given that’s what they sold KPop Demon Hunters to Netflix and that blew up big. I hope Matt gets to make a movie soon.

I, Chihuahua has been saved! It’s been announced that the film by Jorge Gutierrez has been rescued after being scrapped by Netflix by Smafu Pictures! I’m really happy to hear the film has been saved and is getting out and away from Netflix! Fantastic news!

Oh absolutely. And at least much like Nimona, other projects there like Foo are also trying to get off the ground. Blue Sky will never die cause the spirit lives on.

It's been five years since it was revealed that Blue Sky Studios would be shuttering and I'm still not over it. It's still a massive loss for animation and I know they really could've shined this decade with ambitious films like Nimona had they endured. I'll forever miss them.

One of the best sequels ever made and the height of the Star Wars saga. Just a perfect movie.

The decision to shut the studio down is still a travesty. Disney should be ashamed. I feel bad for you and the rest of the Blue Sky alum knowing the studio could've done more this decade (Nimona was proof, I'm at least glad that was finished). Blue Sky will never die and I'm still wishing you well.

It's why I always do my research on every single film I watch or review it because I want to learn about it before I start to review it. I want to learn about the history alongside the filmmaking to make my points broader than just throwing in snarky jokes. I love films too much and I like to learn.

Agreed, I think the moment when it got to The Wall review (which I haven't seen and will never see, I love that album and Pink Floyd too much and don't want it tarnished), it made me glad that I long left it behind. Also, as a film lover, I don't want to be screaming at a movie.

Sony Pictures Animation has a new film out about a goat wanting to become a champion basketball player that I saw early. While it's familiar and not one of their best films, it's still tons of fun and does work. Anyway, here's my review of Goat.

Here's some concept art from The Mitchells Vs. The Machines by Alex Konstad. It's still my absolute favorite Sony Pictures Animation film since the plot is just perfectly nutty and Katie Mitchell is someone I identify with so much. Just a great film.

"Slam dunk" is not the term I would've used, but two-pointer is more accurate. It certainly doesn't miss the hoop. So I ain't disappointed.

Yes. Nick and Judy are the heart of Zootopia and you can’t take them out of it. The main character of Goat isn’t bad, he’s just not as interesting as the other characters.
February 7, 2026 at 9:58 PM
Goat was a fun time! While it doesn’t rise as one of Sony Pictures Animation’s best films due to it’s too familiar story and uninteresting lead, it still works due to its beautiful animation and a fun cast of supporting characters. I’ll give you my full review very soon.

Honestly, it reminds me of how Columbia Pictures was once owned by Coca-Cola which is ironic given the films they put out now feature mostly Pepsi product placement.

Woah, they're REALLY going at it. I LOVE it. I missed your union yaoi art a lot.

Here are some sketches of Nimona by Aidan Sugano. She is easily one of the biggest comfort characters that has come out for me this decade. Just adore her rebellious spirit at times like this.

Oh jeez, I am so sorry. I got robbed last year when some idiot used my card to buy a package of food that I never ordered. I had to get a new card and everything. I really hope you can get it back, man.

I’m so sorry Tristan.

Here's a concept art sketch of Woody and Buzz from Toy Story drawn by Bob Pauley. It's thirty years old and Pixar has put out nearly thirty films since then and still as entertaining as ever.

They didn’t cut it as much as Austin Powers censored it by obscuring with objects to get the R. I’m not kidding. I’ve seen that cut and it’s ridiculous.

Man, I remember this show when I was really young. I'm in awe you and others were able to find it all! Congratulations on this great lost media find!
