A ★★★★ review of Silent Movie (1976)
Mel Brooks's delightful and hilarious take on silent films, he and his writers develop so many funny comic set-pieces throughout the runtime. I find one of Brooks's strengths is his verbal wit, so it'...

The best film critics will always be those that engage with the film, analyse its intent and themes and try to understand its techniques, not those who mindlessly and repeatedly throw the word "slop" around like a three-year-old in a high chair.

Even though it's called "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie", I see they're also including a lot of things from Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World.
New galaxies. New friends. Yoshi joins the adventure. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is only in theaters April 1.

When ICE is acting like the Gestapo, it’s time to abolish it. My 2nd great-grandmother and my dad’s grandfather’s sister were murdered by the Nazis. What we’re seeing in America right now is NOT normal. It’s time to cut ICE’s funding. No more American lives should be lost to federal agents!

Exactly. I've seen some people on both extremes derisively refer to protests like No Kings as nothing more than "liberal street parades"

But what we're seeing in Minnesota are people united and offering an opposing viewpoint and viable solutions against those hurting citizens there and other states
I’m so proud of Minnesota. I understand why some people belittle protests as not enough, but I really think this shit matters.

I saw a clip on Fox News and they had to admit thousands of people showed up. It’s not going to stop Trump, but it’s a signal to your neighbors that they’re not alone.

The nomination for Delroy Lindo made me so happy! Deserving recognition for a great scene-stealing performance and an actor who is always a delight.

But why the total rejection of Wicked: For Good? Couldn't even throw it a bone in costume or makeup? #Oscars

Well that's strange, the leftists on Bluesky keep repeatedly assuring me that Democrats aren't doing their jobs and keep throwing marginalized people under the bus and both parties are the same. How very odd.
1. In a major victory, Democrats have managed to get all anti-trans riders stripped from the final appropriations bills.

This includes HHS and Ed, which had the worst provisions in congressional history.

If it passes, it will be a big win for 2026.

Me a few days ago: Societal problems are fixable in a democracy by figuring out solutions that hurt the least amount of people rather than resorting to extremism, scapegoating, yelling and name-calling.

Roger Allers gave us so many unforgettable animated moments.

He did a splendid job with "The Lion King" and his beautiful short "The Little Matchgirl", served as head of story of "Beauty and the Beast" and his original Incan story eventually led to "The Emperor's New Groove."
