If "Rush Hour 4" actually does somehow become a thing soon with Brett Ratner directing, there's going to be a scene at the White House, isn't there? letterboxd.com/mrcoat/film/...
A ★½ review of Rush Hour 3 (2007)
I strongly dislike the first two "Rush Hour" movies, so the third film doesn't have a high bar to clear. This might be the best in the trilogy, in my opinion, but that's not saying much as it still sh...

An overall strong list of nominations, although it's interesting that "Little Amelie" was placed in Best Animated Feature instead of Best Independent Animated Feature with the other international films.
ASIFA-Hollywood today revealed the nominees for the 53rd Annie Awards (annieawards.org), covering the year’s greatest artistic achievements across animated feature films, shorts and series as well as visual effects and video games.

"Natural Born Killers" might have the world record for the most scenery chewing by a cast. letterboxd.com/mrcoat/film/...
A ★★★ review of Natural Born Killers (1994)
Seemingly throwing everything at the screen, Oliver Stone did not flinch in his depiction of this violent couple and the media attention they receive. The first half is particularly interesting as it ...

At the risk of being labeled a "shitlib" or a "genocide enabler," it just doesn't seem all that likely to me that Kamala Harris would've invaded Venezuela.

Too many people think "Iron Man" or Joss Whedon invented action movies with quippy lines, even though "Raiders of the Lost Ark" has Indiana Jones and his friends often making quippy remarks between the action. "Asps. Very dangerous. You go first."

Look at Sean Connery's James Bond movies, too.
If there's one thing that signals film illiteracy from someone online, it's when they deride humor used in another genre as being "a Marvel-like quip."

Go watch DIE HARD. "No shit, lady! Do you think I'm ordering a pizza?!" is the exact same kind of line that now gets called "quippy"

lots of daycares keep the same hours as public schools. which means this place is closed for the holidays. this imbecile better be careful stalking daycare centers in Philadelphia.
Now random douchebags are showing up to daycares thinking they’re going to break a big story.

Many daycares are closed this week due to the New Year.

Good lord.

The Oscar category I predict could go in a surprising direction is Best Supporting Actress. With two possible candidates each from One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value and Marty Supreme, plus Ariana Grande and Amy Madigan in the mix, anything can happen.

"Should I hate your father because he came from Ireland or France or Russia? Wouldn't I be a first class fat head?"

Frank Sinatra speaking the truth. I've seen too many decide to hate someone simply because of where they were born or what country their parents happened to live in. And that's wrong.
I'm once again politely asking Bluesky developers to allow us to attach multiple photos and videos in one post.
