Starting to think the Best Animated Feature nominees at the Oscars will be:
KPop Demon Hunters
Arco
Little Amelie
Zootopia 2
Elio

Although there's a possibility Sylvain Chomet's "A Magnificent Life" could take Elio's spot.

Kind of funny that the way they differentiated the villain in "The Little Mermaid II" who wants the king's trident, gets a teenager to agree to a magical transformation and is voiced by Pat Carroll was to just make her "Ursula's crazy sister!" letterboxd.com/mrcoat/film/...

"The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea" could probably be considered the poster child for some of the worst tendencies of the direct-to-video Disney sequels that gave them such a divisive reputatio...

A reasoning I sometimes see for why to use AI is that it can do the writing, researching and proofreading for you.

Okay, but I actually enjoy doing those things myself. Why would I let the machine do that?
What a great headline

Watched the new "Prep & Landing" special, which was a nice catch-up with these characters and had its amusing moments, although I preferred the first storyline with the seal over the second one on the island.

What’s the only new pop culture that’s already massive enough to be added to the Thanksgiving Day Parade mere months after release?

K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Almost like it’s worth taking a risk on original animated movies.

I know Brett Ratner is buddies with Trump, but you could literally get anyone to direct a "Rush Hour." Preferably someone who didn't do disgusting things in front of women.

I upset a lot of Nick Wilde-Judy Hopps shippers today. I underestimated how many people want these two mammals to start dating.

#Zootopia2 continues the creative world-building and fun animal jokes of the first film, along with a worthwhile message about not hating someone just because they're different. Also appreciated that Nick and Judy's relationship remains platonic.

'Sleeping Beauty' flopped in 1959, leading to cutbacks of the animation department in favor of theme parks, to make animation production faster/cheaper. Much of the women were the Ink & Department, yes, but getting rid of women were not why the cuts were made.

Please stop spreading misinfo, thanks.
the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you

A lot of people celebrating "Toy Story" and its impact today and one thing I will never forget about seeing the movie on original release is the opening logo. Seeing the familiar Disney castle rendered like this blew me away.

Crazy that A24 went through the trouble of picking up Ne Zha 2 and producing a dub only to not bother submitting it for Best Animated Feature.

I think Ketchup made a mistake giving Day the Earth Blew Up a qualifying run last year. Had a better shot this year.
The Academy has officially unveiled the animated films that are eligible for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature this year. A lot of interesting picks this year. Curious which ones will be nominated.

Against my better judgment, I watched a certain comedian's recent video on Tim Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"...only to get annoyed at him frequently calling it a remake and not judging it as an adaptation of the book or on its own merits.
