This guy complaining about people being in "air-conditioned offices."

Where were you, Pete, when you were watching your murder-strike livestream?
Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post

UPDATE: On this morning's Up first, @npr.org says that they have confirmed that "Hegseth ordered both strikes." (Ie, the first on the boat, the second to kill the survivors.) Around 5 min mark. Assuming more on this forthcoming.

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

This is a hell of a retraction. If we had a functional FDA, they’d ban glyphosate immediately and save a lot of lives.

Department of Defense Law of War Manual, Sec. 18.3.2.1 states the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders.

What’s its key example? Wait for it . . . It’s "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

An ICE agent was caught removing a sign marking an ICE kidnapping in DC last week! Do we think he did it out of anger, embarrassment, or most appropriately shame? If you think what you’re doing is right, why are you trying to hide the evidence? 👀

Hang on, as @klasfeldreports.com notices, the Comey dismissal may be without prejudice, but the judge ruled that the original indictment was *invalid*, and notes that an invalid indictment doesn't toll the statute of limitations. She thinks the statute has passed.

Good lord, this story. Kid with intellectual disabilities trapped in immigration detention for weeks as mom tried desperately to get him out
Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

For over 300 years now, it is a bedrock principle in Anglo-American constitutionalism that obedience is owed according only to law. Refusal to follow an illegal command is not only a moral choice but an absolute duty.

Wyden is not known for histrionics. If he's saying something is bad, it's bad, and he has the receipts.

(He's also saying that he's trying to get even more receipts but Treasury is stonewalling.)

Top JPMC execs were in constant contact with Epstein and were aware of his shady financials. Top staff at JPMC, reporting directly to CEO Jamie Dimon, closely supervised Epstein’s accounts. One even coached Epstein on how to sanitize his suspiciously large cash withdrawals.
