Okay, I'll admit I was skeptical of Prodigy building a multi-season arc on rescuing frickin' Chakotay, of all people. But Old Man Chakotay, grouchy bearded captain of an actual sailing starship with a rudder and a helm and stuff, swept my doubts away. He has never been so well-written. #StarTrek

These indictments are disgusting. I was there when these alleged crimes *did not* occur. The only violence that occurred was committed by ICE, as usual.

insane that people are getting in trouble for just quoting Charlie Kirk point blank. many of these people are not even expressing support for what happened to him, just quoting him & questioning double standards in how we respond to violence. we live in a far-right culture

I need everyone on Normal People internet to know that American Girl Doll Instagram is doing doll protests today. There are tiny t-shirts and signs. AND THEN I realized it's a joint protest with the Barbie ppl, where there are EVEN TINIER SIGNS.

Trump envisioned a grand jubilation
Where the Armed Forces flexed on the nation
But the message imparted
Was barely halfhearted:
A sad, humid, weak flatulation.

This isn't an article by a Japanese journalist. It's a translation of a Slate article and the English version is much harsher.

"The Great Gatsby" was published 100 years ago today. Charles Schulz came back to it numerous times in "Peanuts," including in this strip from June 26, 1995, my favorite in the last decade of "Peanuts," so spare and melancholy and strange.

You’ll probably see this screenshot floating around a lot but it really was wonderful to see Lynch put a scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he has his character literally stare at the camera and say that you should either support trans people or die. I needed to hear that in 2017

I feel deep sorrow at the passing of the great David Lynch, and deep gratitude for his life and work. He changed movies. He changed television. He opened the eyes of generations of critics to new possibilities for both. And his two minutes in The Fabelmans will remain a source of joy for me forever.
