The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

We all have an "antilibrary." You know, the stack of yet-unread books we might never read. Here is Umberto Eco's wonderful and counterintuitive take on why that unread stack might be as essential for our inner lives as the read www.themarginalian.org/2015/03/24/u...

So many people who are otherwise so committed to good things are on Substack, which is very nice to bad people, ideas, and lies. My own newsletter was launched on Ghost because the bad news about Substack isn't new.

I'm not saying that I endorse the Nats' policies, but the Coalition could do worse than have Littleproud as its leader.

Twitter implemented a new feature last night that displayed the country an account is in. So many of the ‘America First’ accounts were from foreign countries that they had to disable the feature within hours. 🙄

Trump and Hegesth need people to be mindless zombies, only follow the orders that their given, not think more holistically about them. So literally anything that might cause someone to question: Is this order aligned with my oath? is a huge threat. To them, "treason" (which it's not) /END

Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Forrest calls net zero a “con,” and he is right. Net zero has become the political class’s favourite loophole: a way to promise climate action while quietly preserving the extractive economy.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

A series of reports published last week by Climate Analytics — and commissioned by Fortescue — set out to support this view by demonstrating that pathways exist to eliminate fossil fuels in key global sectors like power, shipping and transport. #auspol #forrest #fossilfuels
Andrew Forrest says real zero is already the 'winning business case' in three key fossil fuel guzzling industries
As the federal Coalition continues its interminable internal debate over whether net zero emissions is even a thing, let alone a thing it can get behind, new reports have found that “real zero” is both technically feasible and economically preferable to its carbon-lite alternative in numerous hard-to-abate sectors.

"People read Foucault,” the redoubtable David Brooks once wrote, “and develop an alienated view of the world.” God, did I love this. An “alienated view of the world”! Not by, like, trying to pay rent or having an insurance claim denied—no, no, it was probably the Foucault you read in 2003."
The extent to which shitty centrist journalism rests on the same thing as Trump, the never-identified "some people say, everyone says" etc. including "critics say" here is a zombie move, lifeless yet vengeful.
