Okay #pratchat83 what is happening at the very, very end of Unseen Academicals? This is based on a possibly False memory of the audiobook and I don’t have my own copy but I think the last line of the book is spoken by an unfamiliar voice saying something like “now it is”. #pterry

Episode five is really exceptional, and as someone who works with middle school kids, I absolutely see my students in them. Perfectly cast, beautifully edited.
Junior Taskmaster is a good show because it understands how you do a kids' version of an adult show: adjust the subject matter, not the expectations.

Many autistic people have intellectual disability. It's important to remember that, for them, "Support is not about deciding things for someone; it’s about empowering them to do what they want to do. It’s giving them the tools to build their own best life." From John Marble et al:

So for #slpeeps and #disability and #AAC specialists, are we talking about the Disney movie Out of My Mind based on the books by Sharon K Draper? Because I just finished the book series and I've never read about #assistivetech in such loving detail before in fiction before.

@keighta.bsky.social Hi, you're here! I'm glad you're here.

I got to see a teenager say his first word, totally unprompted. (it was "Hi" used functionally, and if you know early language, you know that's an extra-big deal). It was four days ago and I'm still buzzing from the excitement! #aac #slpeeps

Throwback to one of the most unintentionally hilarious things a student has ever asked
Today a student asked me whether dinosaurs got sent to heaven or hell, and I can’t stop thinking about it.

i think about this tweet so much that sometimes in the morning when i realize i don't actually want to do whatever plan i came up with, I will think to myself "no. do not let the tweet be right about you again" and it works
I just got straight murdered by this. Like it didn’t just attack me, I am now dead

When trying to do pretty basic google sheets formulas, (a schedule for the day in 15 minute increments) Chat GPT is kicking google gemini's ass right now. Gemini is basically unusable and gave me nonsense over and over again.

Piles of complaints over years that your platform is unnecessarily complicated? That server admins have too much power? That it's hard to find your friends? That new user experience is trash (lmao your server doesn't matter)?

Should that get any energy?

Nah, it is the USERS that are wrong.
Mastodon boosters do themselves no favors by assuming *everyone* who doesn’t care for it must be so bad at technology that they can’t turn on their TV

i am pretty good at technology which makes me feel confident when I say Mastodon is still needlessly annoying to use

I have GOT to do this with my email address and phone number
trick adapted from accessibility that has saved me hours of time:

both ios and android offer automatic text replacement, which is usually associated with processing things or handling unusual name spellings etc

but you can do other things too. why type your email address ever again?

Whilst visiting my fiancée’s (F21) hometown, I (M23) blatantly and repeatedly hit on her frenemy (F21). I weirdly sent fiancée a piano & then spread rumours that it was a gift from her married lover. Made a day-trip to London for a haircut. Why am I like this

God: When the humans are alone, they should be able to hear music in their heads sometimes.

Angel: That's a lovely idea.

God: And it should be a 8 second loop of a song they don't really like and can't exactly remember the lyrics to.

Angel: ...

God: There's no way to make it stop.
