Many lessons to take from Tuesday. I believe one should be that neither "side" is going away and we need to find a way to come together despite very real differences.

No one is going to come and save us, it's hard work that Minneapolis DFLers are going to have to do ourselves.
5. I am saddened by the demise of the Mpls DFL and the majority of the blame for that rests at DFL HQ in Saint Paul. But there are many sub cliques within the party that prioritize their faction winning over the good of the overall team. Those disputes are turfy petty and disrupt a coalition.

Up bright and early to vote this morning! Still feels a bit odd to fill in a bubble next to my name...

Get out and vote for me and the rest of the DFL/Labor park baord slate!

Also: voter #63 for 13-4 at 8am.

I just cast my vote – it was a run but very surreal experience to vote for myself for the first time.

If you haven’t voted yet, please get out there before polls close today at 8 pm. Today we get to choose the Minneapolis we deserve.

Unbelievable: the Trump Administration is using the government shutdown to punish Minnesotans and raise our energy bills.

The reckless cancelation of these projects is going to cost thousands of good-paying jobs and harm communities across the state.

Didn't Jacob Frey run his first mayoral race based on ending homelessness? All of us deserve better.
Right now, the City's homelessness response team consists of just four positions – and they work in a department that manages parking enforcement and animal control.

Our unhoused neighbors deserve dignity. We need to do better – and with the right leadership, we can.

Kudos to the Strib’s Eric Roper for trying to make up for his own news org’s political desk by actually covering Dewayne Davis as a mayoral candidate in his own right. Davis’s positions aren’t all mine, but he has a real shot at bringing the city closer together. www.startribune.com/dewayne-davi...

Representative Agabje has been one of the most steadfast and effective advocates for tenant's rights in the State House. Absolutely zero coincidence that's who the Mayor's allies target.
I didn't notice this before, but Rev. Jerry McAfee, the pastor at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, has announced his candidacy for State Representative, District 59B. This seat is currently held by Rep. Esther Agabje.

Happy Labor Day!

Just shut up. Stop peddling bullshit. You should be fired.

We are the only country on earth where children regularly get shot in school and people are shot in their place of worship. It *doesn’t* have to be this way. Gun violence in America is a policy choice and I’m ready to make a different one. Let’s end gun violence.

We deserve a city government that works for all of us—where decisions are made based on what’s right for the people of our city, not based on who is most loyal to the mayor.

We deserve better.

It's so frustrating to me that the State DFL refused to help fund the City Convention, forcing organizers to do their best with what they had. And now the richest people in (and outside) Minneapolis are willing to throw their money around to try to invalidate that convention
karin birkeland says all of mpls has been working “tirelessly” the past month at “invalidating the convention” that endorsed not just omar fateh but the park board slate. also said they had a team of pro bono lawyers helping with this effort

The fact that a former party chair doesn't know who two of the most qualified parliamentarians in the state are should tell you something about how credible his opinions are on how the Minneapolis DFL operated at the convention.
now in rebuttal period. starting again with mike erlandson. says the defense "cannot stand." doesn't know who either friedrich or thomas-commins is, but tried hard under challenging circumtances and are trying even harder today

TEXAS STATE REP. MITCH LITTLE (R): "Because we can."

KEILAR: "Why should you, though?"
