PSA: It’s natural to crave control during unprecedented times. If rearranging deck chairs brings you calm, that’s fine, but please make sure you’re not forcing other people to rearrange deck chairs when they need to be bailing out the ship or helping people into life rafts.

The publisher has cut their costs by outsourcing to this company, the company has cut their costs by using AI/low-paid staff instead of paying for a proper job, while I’ve spent hours & hours fixing the manuscript, so all the extra labour from cost-costing has fallen on me, the unremunerated author

Until universities realize that their only hope is collective action and hiding will not save you, we're going to see them go after waves of institutions.
