its amazing how much the timeline slows down when you turn off reposts and quote posts

I’m choosing to stay informed outside the immediacy of social media. Unfortunately, I miss out on good stuff, I know, but my nerves and brain can only process so much at once

was just thinking the other day about “dumb” phones and my interest level in going back to something that let me call/text and that’s it
I feel like there’s an opportunity for some company to sell appliances that are analog, mechanical, and connected to nothing.

If a company started advertising their newest television as “it’s just a TV, it has no apps, it does nothing but display moving images” people would line up to buy it

mayo, salad dressing, aioli I don’t care what you call it the answer is NO
What’s a food that you are absolutely in the minority about disliking. I think my worst one is probably summer rolls. Oh and olives. Unless they’re blue cheese stuffed and in a dirty martini.

can you imagine getting your con busted up by Margo effing Martindale??

iconic
You're telling me

that Margo Martindale

and Wayne Knight

were once partners

on a team of character actors who moonlit as private investigators

to supplement film/tv income by busting bad guys with their acting skills

and this has never been adapted into the longest-running show on NBC?

Do you think Oscar Wilde or Dorothy Parker had any normal friends who were just trying to have a normal conversation going “alright man, anyway”

Butler’s response is *exactly* correct. To accept the premise that ‘woke’ is something outside of a right wing moral panic is to be a dupe.

got caught out by the fact that college outside the US doesn’t mean the same as college in the US and that’s how I ended up in a YA library book that was Very Not For Me

That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
The $82.5 million sale of "Hot Ones" studio First We Feast is part of a broader strategy at BuzzFeed to shift away from human editors, writers and content producers in favor of artificial intelligence, which result in "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."
BuzzFeed sells "Hot Ones" studio for $82.5 million as it pursues more AI-driven content
The company said the sale will allow it to depend less on human-created content in favor of "high-margin, tech-enabled revenue lines."
