my mean opinion said in the nicest way, while replaying this and being excited whenever someone speaks to samus, is people really gotta stop overreacting to prime 4’s Very Obvious Tutorial npc as if it ruins the whole game and like. smell some flowers. it’ll be ok guys. i love samus meeting randoms

As thinking about Metroid narratives I like and don’t like and I think the big dividing line between Fusion and Other M is that both have narrative elements about Adam/The Federation putting limits on what Samus can do, but in Fusion, the narrative doesn’t make Samus act stupidly self-destructive.

In Metroid Prime Hunters when you enter these hallways you are not actually entering a room on the map. Rather every hallway is this same hallway and it exists outside the map. Where the doors lead just changes. If you open the map at the right moment it takes a moment to decide what room you're in.
