According to this Supreme Court, President Biden's Department of Education was exceeding its power by trying to forgive peoples' student loans.

President Trump, on the other hand, has the power to just completely dismantle the entire Education Department.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

This (along with other recent shadow-docket rulings on the civil service) is great news for the next Democratic president, who can now fire every ICE agent on day one without a single vote in Congress.

let's take stock here:

(Democratic) Presidents, via the Dept of Education, can't cancel student debt because statutes don't clearly authorize it.

Republican Presidents can cancel/shut down the Dept of Education because, even though only Congress can shut down departments ..., ... 🤷‍♀️ YOLO?

There’s literally only two specific charges enumerated in the Constitution that specifically warrants Presidential impeachment, and bribery is one of them.

Other one is treason, in case you were wondering how serious the Founding Fathers were against bribery.

I note that the principle “the executive branch can do whatever it wants in foreign affairs” absolutely also includes a future president saying “I believe the previous administration committed CAH and have therefore surrendered members of that administration to The Hague to face justice.”
Marco Rubio just announced 10 more people were sent to be imprisoned in CECOT. They were flown there from Gitmo to be imprisoned potentially for life based not on any crime for which they were convicted, but on unproven allegations of gang membership with no due process.

This is not lawful.

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.
