Wearing a mask is one of the easiest ways to ensure you are in solidarity with those most impacted by our authoritarian present. Taking action to prevent the spread of a deadly&disabling neuroinvasive vascular virus—among other airborne pathogens—as our institutions crumble is an antifascist choice.

In preparation for today’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, state police forced over 100 homeless men and women onto buses under threat of arrest, dumping them in an unheated warehouse. Tents destroyed, belongings lost. Press are barred from the warehouse.

The price tag for this cruelty? $17.5 million
Louisiana coerced unhoused people into an unheated warehouse – and paid $17.5m for it
Dozens of New Orleanians were bused to a site with insufficient heating and blankets days before the city is to host the Super Bowl

Indiana joins North Carolina, Nassau County and countless other parts of the US in attempting to ban masks.

The Governor of New York and Mayor of New York City are also in favour of bans.

Please, mask up. The more of us wearing them, the easier it is to normalize them as a public health tool
Indiana Republicans are all about that personal freedom. 🙄

One of the easiest, most visible ways to resist is to mask

Safeguarding your health is more important than ever. It’s easier to fight back when you’re not chronically ill

It shows you care about disabled & marginalized individuals

It tells government you won’t be complicit in the harm of others

It’s never too late to start masking again.

Repeat covid infections are not inevitable, no matter how much the government tries to say they are.

When you wear a mask you help normalize them as public health tools. You make mask bans harder.

You increase disability visibility, which we need now

I was curious about boosters as an adult. Recommended to get every 10 years. Something I did not know. Info would be especially helpful for parents, grandparents, teachers and childcare workers.

Documents reviewed by Rewire News Group suggest the total may have been closer $1 billion. Where is all that "crisis pregnancy center" money going?

Chase Strangio said we need to intervene in any and all narratives that work to blame or isolate transgender people. 👀 Step up, push back, be loud. Trans people need to know they aren’t alone and that their allies are legion.

Chase Strangio spoke with @zachstafford.bsky.social before making history at the Supreme Court today.

It’s important for us to listen to what trans people have to say about what’s going on. And to follow their guidance.

The Supreme Court case tomorrow is fundamentally not about gender affirming care, it's about whether or not trans people have any protections under the 14th amendment. A loss in this case would greenlight a torrent of explicitly discriminatory legislation without much, if any judicial recourse.

Re Branning’s voting record in the state senate: “voting against changing the state flag to remove the Confederate battle emblem, voting against expanding Medicaid to the working poor and supporting mandatory and increased minimum sentences for crime.”

Therefore… vote for Kitchens.
