BREAKING: The House of Representatives just passed a bill that would subject immigrant children to invasive bodily searches and keep them in detention instead of releasing them to their families.

The Senate must vote no on this horrific bill.

@handsoffnyc.bsky.social is training thousands of New Yorkers on how to protect their neighbors from ICE. Today, they are currently running two trainings in Brooklyn and the Bronx, both of which hit capacity because interest was so high.

This is the way, y’all—we protect each other, and we know it.

You know who contributes billions to the economy? Immigrants. You know who doesn’t? Immigrants too scared to leave their homes (via Bloomberg Opinion)
Defending Masked Immigration Agents Is a Losing Battle
California passed a pair of laws that would prohibit immigration agents from wearing masks or hiding their identities while detaining people they suspect of being undocumented immigrants. It didn’t take long for the Trump administration to not only sue, but to refuse to comply.

Was something a while back along the same lines, I think, looking at the UK and how negative attitudes to migration there correlated not with actual numbers of migrants but with mentions in rightwing media.
This is an article of mine from last year, for what it’s worth.

I've so often thought the same thing (though I could never articulate it so well as this). But I also wonder what it looks like if and when people (esp. pundits, media) really start to wrap their heads around this fact.
Nothing is real to MAGA, that's what you need to understand. Everything can be true or false at any time, or even the same time, depending on what they need to believe in order to feel catharsis. They have created vast, insular social environments for the purpose of endless emotional indulgence.
