If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I almost always have a scene early in the book where bunch of people sit around a table and talk about what the plot actually is. Caught myself at it again tonight and moved it to a church instead so it would do triple duty as worldbuilding and add conflict. Every scene does 3 things or out it goes

Another thousand words today. Most importantly, tho, I have a clean first 50 pages.
I'm not trying to sell this book on spec, so there's no rush, but clean first 50 and synopsis is what you sell on if you ARE shopping, and it's cool to feel like I'm a real writer again doing real writing things 😂

Went to a lovely author event (#AminattaForna) tonight, and stood in line with a friend to buy one of her books afterwards. He is just as "financially stressed" as I, and suggested a brilliant plan: We buy a book together, go halvsies, and I give it to him when I'm done reading it.
