“Restricting access and making Albertans pay for vaccines is the exact opposite of a public health strategy, and will add unnecessary pressure onto our already strained public health care system,” said FOM ED Chris Gallaway

I do not understand why we are not collectively freaking out.
“From 1981 to 2015, there were an average of 18 smoke hours per year in the city of Calgary. No year had over 100.

Now we see hundreds of smoke hours routinely: 315 in 2017, 450 in 2018, 439 in 2021, 512 in 2023, and 2024 was ‘only’ 200.”

This is big.

The @nfucanada.bsky.social is calling on the federal government to adopt proportional representation, saying first-past-the-post fuels western alienation and sidelines rural voices.

It’s time to listen, @mark-carney.bsky.social.

What do the Poilievre Conservatives mean when they say they want to push back on "woke ideology"? That's a very good question with no answers from them.

If Trump and Smith offer any lessons, here's what we can expect from an anti-woke agenda in Canada.

What's "woke"?
Poilievre's vague promise leaves us guessing about his agenda.

Read the piece some are calling "Moscrop is a fake news shill for the Liberals."

Spoiler: If you read past the first few sentences, like a literate adult, you'll see this is, in fact, a partial *critique* of how we construct reasonability.

#STEM folks stop what you’re doing and read this.

Must watch war speech by Justin Trudeau.

Few outside of Canada understand our combination of civility, empathy and steel in our spine - this speech explains all that.

Not a foul word spoken. Not one inch of retreat.

Easy to lose this in the noise of the day, but the prime minister of Canada just said the US president, leader of the global hegemon, wants to soften us up economically so he can annex us.

That is one of the most remarkable statements, and realities, in our history.

What the actual? This isn’t a Fox headline. It’s from PBS - apparently morphing from a respected public broadcaster to an organ of the Trump White House. If this is the kind of media that public television audiences are now consuming, and believing, we are in even more trouble than we thought.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly said Canada should be the 51st U.S. state as he proposes to erase the 5,525-mile-long border that separates the two countries.

Here’s what it would take to transform Canada from a nation to a state.

You were taught that educated, single, child-free women are unwanted and pathetic because a woman who is unmanageable through attachment and enraged at the exploitation all around her is a very dangerous thing to an institution that needs to manage and exploit her in order to survive.

I always thought Elon Musk was the most dangerous man in America but I viewed him as a danger primarily in terms of his wealth and his disinformation power. I didn't realize he would pose an actual threat to our form of government, our national security, and our most sensitive personal data.
Sheesh.
