When are Americans--people, pundits, politicians, activists--going to start talking seriously about exercising their Second Amendment rights, as originally envisioned, to protect their country from tyranny? I was asked what a Canadian anti-fascist response would look like compared to the nationalist focus on a so-called trade war that completely misses the point (the fact that we are fighting fascism, not tariffs) and plays into fascists' hands. This is what I came up with:
A strong identification and denunciation of the specific things the US is doing to eliminate democracy and people's civil rights and a declaration that these actions are contrary to Canadian values and that we will stand strong in solidarity against them.
