NY allowed religious exemptions from school vaccine mandates.

It spurred a measles outbreak, so the state passed a law ending the exemption.

Parents + schools + 22 red states asked SCOTUS to strike down the law and restore the exemption.

It appears … QUITE interested.

If nothing else good came from 2025, the fact that many Black women (including me) burned our proverbial capes is a thin silver lining within the horrors of the present.

We've got to save ourselves, our families, and our communities...the nation said "NO" to our bid to save it, and we said "heard."

SCOOP — Gregg Phillips, a conspiracy theorist with no emergency management experience who helped produce the election-denying documentary ‘2000 Mules’ with Dinesh D’Souza and has faced numerous legal inquiries, has been named head of FEMA’s Office of Response and Recovery.

My story:
Conspiracy theorist election denier given FEMA’s second-most important role
Gregg Phillips will lead the Office of Response and Recovery, “the heart of what FEMA does.”

ICE now admits that hundreds of children were held past the legal 20-day custody limit set to protect their safety.

Five were kept for 168 days.

Some faced unsafe conditions and went days without medical care.

This crosses a moral line.

The people in Trump’s orbit believe they are special.

That they are exempt from the rules of gravity, the “throw-a-punch-but-can-never-take-a punch“ shitposter mentality & ignominy that govern Trump’s demesne.

They never believe they will be treated as they have treated others.

I had a long talk with someone yesterday about how all prior logic and norms about the labor market have been called off because capital is in the final push to finally casualize white collar workers the way they’ve long wanted to do. From AI to non-competes to this. They smell blood in the water.
