Learning about Dancing with the Stars tonight and apparently they just have a single division for all the celebrities. They pit 70-year-old actors against people who were in the Olympics 5 months ago, and America votes to just banish the olds as early as they can.

One of Trump’s biggest advantages is that he sees every single issue in zero-sum terms, and this is much much closer the median voter’s view of the world than non-zero sum visions of a world where everybody flourishes etc
Deluzio says you need a clear vision and bold messaging, and you must be willing to name enemies: “Not every issue has a win-win solution. Sometimes there’s a bad guy, and you’ve got to be willing to fight them.”

Georgetown Law app had a question where you could share a “top 10 list” and I debated creating a “Top 10 Celtics of the 21st century” and sharing it with 0 further explanation to see if they knew ball.

Dems should just start referring to any tax that only impacts ultra-high net worth folks a “greed tax”.

Even “wealth tax” will sound bad to a lot of people cause they themselves hope to be wealthy.

This should be Dems’ “death tax” - force the GOP to defend greed head on.
Here’s mine: it’s a marginal issue, but I thought the unrealized capital gains proposal was a well crafted policy and it polls well when explained, but the complexity made it too easy to fear monger. A wealth tax is probably worse policy, but easier to message so we should run on that instead.

Build more housing. Everywhere.
The two blue states that saw the least Trumpward shift are Washington and Colorado.

Guess who produced the most housing per capita of blue states last year.

Colorado and Washington

the DOGE agency will not have the authority to reallocate funds (nor would that be constitutional), it is a PR tool to create the impression that government spending is inherently wasteful and build political momentum for spending cuts
Hypothetical. I'm curious what people think. If the DOGE agency worked on the premise that half of all savings in a federal program were distributed as increased benefits to qualified recipients, would you consider the details ?

I do think the Elon non-government agency thing is going to go roughly how The Boring Company did: big public launch, lots of promises, then a quiet loss of interest when they’re confronted with the reality that a lot of “government waste” is just military spending the GOP wants to increase.
