Hurricane Melissa has done catastrophic damage to Western Jamaica. We are used to hurricanes, but this is the worst hurricane on record that has ever hit the island. There has been devastation to infrastructure and housing. If you are able to, please donate to relief efforts: supportjamaica.gov.jm

Most people in NI are really not surprised by the Soldier F outcome - but this was no show trial or witch hunt. The judge excoriated the soldiers' conduct, but because of a passing of time caused by extreme state failings, could not convict. That is the scandal. These headlines are grotesque:

The actual regime that these people are hankering after is Dubai: a small elite of citizens, most immigrants to be transient, insecure and all immigrants to be second-class. In reality they would hate the world they would create and would find ever-more ridiculous scapegoats for their failure.
