Writer, bear, part time human, literary reservoir, changeling creature.

He/Him
Pinned
He stumbled out of the shadows that carried him, hands scrabbling for purchase on whatever meaning and reality his meager strength could hold. The shadows hungered to have him back, to carry him elsewhere, deeper into oblivion. But he had a job to do, so he clung to the world: defiant and furious.
Garret's Literature Minute: When Women Were Dragons.

We are all aware of a time in our lives when what's inside is more powerful, dangerous, and wonderful than anything else. This book is that feeling, writ large in historical fantasy. Also, it's gay AF.

This concludes Garret's literature minute.

The actual opposition of fascism is creation . Period

If fascism is the institutionalization of dysfunction

Then fighting is the collectivization of functionality

You fight it by making things work for ALL while the try to make sure it only works for some

I've seen a lot of talk about Art getting people through tough times. What this feels like to me, is that Humans are getting Humans through tough times. Some of them are gone, but all left us some pale ghosts of themselves behind. We talk to these ghosts in the mirror of our time, and struggle on.

There is a world where I can see this person being blind to sarcasm or snark; or so immersed in it, and woven into their own traumas, that the negative is all they can see, rather than the bright and comedic traits. Life may be a wonder, but sometimes, people are less mysterious than one may hope.
Like, this is an actual human being. What does this person consider to be humorous? I can't even imagine. And yet, we are breathing the same air, and are ultimately genetically related.

Life is a wondrous mystery.

This is such a powerful observation about why ableism is so inherent in U.S. society. From A Disability History of the United States by Kim Nielsen.

I want to see the way we tell the stories of games—and game developers—go beyond advertisements. So, we worked with @NoodleVEVO to do just that.

This is the story of Bass Reeves Can’t Die, the latest game from Strange Scaffold.
You’ll want to watch this.

One thing you will never think after reading a great book or listening to a great album or seeing a great piece of art is, “I’m really glad this person remained cautious while they were making this and guarded against being perceived as weird.”

Writers: yes, you are still a "real" writer if you
- have never published anything
- have no readers
- didn't write anything this month
- didn't write anything this year
- can't articulate words anymore
- can only float and mournfully wail
- were murdered ten years ago on this very spot
