I disagree. Scotland is a very congenial place to live. There are a few intolerable culture war arseholes who grate on the nerves, but then this country has always been plagued by midges

British people were 'sold a lie' with Brexit, Emmanuel Macron said this week at a joint press conference with Keir Starmer

He said Brexit has made it harder to combat illegal migration across the Channel - HE’S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT 👇

The UK is going to suffer a turbocharged MAGA period. A far-right corporate-infused ideology will performatively reign as total infrastructural chaos rips through communities and severely impacts everyone's lives, including those that vote Reform.
Jesus fucking wept.

I wish more journalists, and politicians for that matter, would call this out as clearly as @maitlis.bsky.social does here. When you make grooming gangs and abuse about race and immigration you deflect from the majority of abusers. All of it should be called out, irrelevant of race.
"Why do you 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 talk about Pakistani grooming gangs? There are 𝙩𝙚𝙣 times as many white grooming gang suspects?"

@maitlis.bsky.social asks ex-Reform MP @rupertlowe.bsky.social why he won't denounce all perpetrators of grooming gangs equally.

Meanwhile, in Scotland, will Felicity from Kent learn Gàidhlig when popping up to her second home in Skye?

Will Nigel lairn the leid o Burns and spik Scots at his Dumfries cottage ('what a steal compared to his London flat')

Will Giles from Exeter stop 'correcting' our English when we speak Scots?
When people say they want some migrants to integrate more what do they want? More Muslims in the Cotswolds? Ali to wear tweed? Does Terry wanna buy Amjad a pint in Spoons? Mustafa to open a chippy not a kebab house? Can someone please give precise guidance?

Genuinely have no idea what Anas Sarwar stands for when his positions only become known days later after getting instructions from Keir Starmer's office.
BREAKING: Anas Sarwar has backed Keir Starmer's plans to restrict immigration.

While Sarwar would not back Starmer's "island of strangers" comment, he said migration must come down "across the board".

Is this the boot up the bahookee some of the Scottish public have been waiting on?

It's now ALSO time for the majority Indy Parties at Holyrood for the last 11 years to - in his words - "show courage and take control of our own destiny".

Starmer's Labour and Farage's Reform are both on the same team to steer the UK towards corporatism/fascism. Entrap, impoverish and enslave the people in a fully privatised corporatist hellscape of SEZs and freeports. Its the same money behind both of them.

If you've only just come to realise that Labour doesn't give a f**k about Scotland, wait till Reform takes over.

The uncomfortable truth about unionist "so-called left wing politicians" in Scotland is that they would rather side with the far right British Nationalist Reform and Farage than the centre left @theSNP ....🇬🇧 Unionism before social equality.

Scotland has some of the cleanest rivers and drinking water. Our electricity bills *are* the highest even though Scottish renewable electricity is the cheapest in Europe. Another Union dividend 🤬
Britain has the dirtiest rivers in Europe, the most expensive energy in Europe, the least reliable trains in Europe, the most overcrowded prisons in Europe and the widest gap between rich and poor in Europe. Could these things possibly be related?

Can't disagree with that. We have seen to date Westminster is unwilling to do this outside the interests of England. That leaves us with independence and to understand we need our own currency from the get go to do this. Then the political will for targeted investment leading to a well being economy
