Working for a better West Dunbartonshire in a fairer, greener Scotland. Co-convenor of Dun Greens. Member @westdungreens.bsky.social.
📊 A poll out by YouGov shows that more people in Scotland would consider voting for the Scottish Greens than they would for Scottish Labour - what an opportunity

🗳️ Regulations came into force today to prevent peers serving in Holyrood as well after the next election

❎ If they want to sit in Holyrood, they’ll have to resign their seat in the House of Lords

🚫 Trump's not welcome here.

👎 Potentially coming to Scotland later this month, I'm sure plenty will make their views known if he touches down.

✍️ There's just 10 days left to respond to the Scottish Government's rent control consultation.

🗣️ Use the recommended consultation response to make it as easy as possible!

Anas Sarwar seems to be challenging Scotland's progressive tax system won by the @scottishgreens.org.

A system where the better-off pay more and the people on lower incomes pay less, whilst raising over £1.5bn extra for public services, is a fairer system.

Sarwar wants 'closer alignment' between tax rates in Scotland and England
Anas Sarwar says a Scottish Labour government would not raise income tax, and would seek to grow the economy so he could cut taxes

Ardrossan Harbour must be nationalised. Privatised ports have been a disaster. Owners based in overseas tax havens like Peel Ports squeeze out all the profit they can whilst failing my constituents on Arran & in Ardrossan. I was proud to speak at the Save Ardrossan Harbour rally.

👏 This is what the devolved social security system should be about - material differences that will improve people's lives

📊 11% of children in West Dunbartonshire live in a family affected by the two-child limit. I'm glad that's finally going to be addressed.

🚨 The Scottish Government has listened to the 50,000 people who demanded they recall the approval of Flamingo Land's destructive Loch Lomond mega-resort plans!

Ministers will now consider the application directly, not leave it up to officials. They must reject it and end this sorry saga ⛔🦩

Good to be with @scottishgreens.org and the local community at Holyrood for the #SaveLochLomond rally.

This place means the world to so many. It deserves protection, not some resort.

People power stopped this before. We can do it again.

The @scottishgreens.org secured a School Meal Debt Fund to wipe school meal debt across Scotland.

It turns out that the Scottish Labour administration in West Dunbartonshire didn’t collect this funding and are still chasing pupils for debt their families can't afford to pay.

📰 We are becoming a deserted island rather than one made up of strangers.

An ageing population, a low birth rate and the impacts of a "turn our backs" Brexit means Scotland needs migration more than ever.

A year since the Scottish Government declared a housing emergency.

Makes you wonder what more could've been done had our Scottish Green MSPs not voted against a housing emergency 6 months earlier. 🤷‍♂️
