This morning @npr.org uncritically parroted Israeli government statements linking the Bondi Beach shooting to the movement for Palestinian rights. There is no evidence for this so far. This sort of journalistic malpractice has devastating effects for human wellbeing.

The counterfactual to widespread e-bike use is most of those users driving personal automobiles, which kill >40,000 Americans per year. But the @nytimes.com doesn't care about that, because defending powerful bloodthirsty enterprises is kind of their thing.
Disappointing article today from @nytimes.com arguing that we need more regulations for e-bikes while pedestrian and cyclist fatalities continue to rise from autos make this article seem like a piece of propaganda from big auto while we do nothing to stop distracted driving

Finally, I know of at least one case where the letter writer, deep into an episode of AI-induced psychosis, asked the LLM why scientists were not responding. The machine suggested that perhaps the scientists were trying to steal his discovery.
