This is a tremendous interview of the Society for the Rule of Law's Executive Director Gregg Nunziata, by former chief Washington correspondent for CNBC, John Harwood. Gregg is as strong and articulate a conservative voice in support of the Constitution and the Rule of Law as I know.
Meet the Conservatives Standing Up to Trump
“I don’t want to be alarmist, but the situation is quite alarming," says a former Rubio adviser who is helping lead the small, but vocal conservative legal resistance.

POLITICO competitor NOTUS posted a story this morning suggesting Rep. Sarah McBride is giving Democrats cover to retreat on trans rights.

The piece sparked backlash at McBride.

But NOTUS has since rewritten it multiple times, changing the takeaway without issuing a correction.

Here's the thing. I've been doing everything in my power since 2015 to stop this train but it's left the station. I'm Mexican American with dual citizenship. Why on earth shouldn't I consider leaving a place that doesn't want me? Are you at risk of being disappeared? Because I am.
The people speaking to the press at risk of losing their jobs are far more brave than 1) Paul Weiss, 2) Columbia, and 3) all the people making plans to emigrate.

In the 1930s we deported 2 million people to Mexico for their land, and over a million were US born citizens and maybe 500k were US citizens born abroad. In the late 1800s we deported US citizens to Mexico in violation of the treaty of Guadalupe. Why would I believe Trump wouldn't?

It is really difficult for me to express the degree to which this insanity has radicalized me. There is absolutely zero reason for me to believe every republican elected official I don't personally know is not racist against Mexicans and other people of latin descent.

There's a special kind of moral depravity you have to possess to gleefully cheer on and clap for the racism and xenophobia - both in thought and deed - that produced internment camps.

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

Brain drain is how we won WW2 and the Cold War
Scientists have just cured pancreatic cancer in some patients with personalized mRNA vaccines. Pancreatic cancer. And this Trump administration wants to throw it all away.

They’re throwing away a cure for cancer.
Exclusive: NIH officials have advised scientists to remove reference to mRNA vaccines from their grant applications, in expectation the Trump administration intends to abandon most research in the field.

This administration illegally denied hundreds of people due process, then deported them to a country they’ve never known, run by an authoritarian infamous for cruel treatment of prisoners.

They then deceived a federal judge to buy time for the planes to land so he couldn’t do anything about it.
A timeline of how the Trump administration raced to use the Alien Enemies Act yesterday, delivering 250 Venezuelan people to El Salvador's brutal prison system without any chance to defend themselves, just before a judge could stop the planes.

I identify with Bonhoeffer's sense of existential dread at the sheer expanse and depth of the church's failure to be the light of the world.

Friends I need your help: I have a severely compromised immune system and - I'm very worried about H5N1 and I need y'all's recommendation on the best UV lights for my home and way to clean shoes. We use that stuff now but I'm worried about tracking bird droppings and exposure to me and our cats.

As I mentioned when news broke about #RFKjr to #HHS yesterday, I sent a letter to AG Merrick Garland on behalf of @lincolnproject.bsky.social.

That was on August 30th.

Here it is. Promising RFKjr the post broke criminal laws. Trump should have been prosecuted.

MAGA GOP ran on “radical transparency” from everything to UFOs to nuclear secrets, but the minute folks want to see a taxpayer-funded report on Matt Gaetz’s sex crimes, they want to keep it all locked up.

Absolute frauds.

I don't want to alarm anyone but Trump doesn't know what the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 is - that means someone has already mapped out an elaborate plan for their immigrant holocaust and shared it so often Trump remembered the name of an obscure nightmare we've tried to hide since Korematsu.

Have you ever had a nightmare that some jackbooted lunatic waxing quixotic about the purity of America's bloodlines was going to drag you from your home like V is for Vendetta for the crime of being Hispanic while citizen-ing? No? That must be nice for you.

I loathe boxing - I think it's an unnecessary display of violence that we should be above as a species. That being said, I want to see Mike Tyson yeet that ridiculous child out of the stratosphere so hard he becomes our second moon.

What should we say when someone calls the office asking for someone to enjoin RFK from un-stuffing Double Stuf Oreos? Is there a long and deeply held constitutional right to seasonal colored cream filling?
