a mentally diminished or incapacitated Trump at the mercy of his handlers is the likeliest scenario going forward and is a way worse outcome than his unambiguous death - the Trump spell remains unbroken and the internal MAGA civil war simmers without boiling over

Ned, your little aside on the ultimate “progress” of Artificial Intelligence on the NDF TdF preview was extremely haunting - looking forward to another year of your coverage in the states via VPN - best, from California

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes

IMO, RFK having an election-swinging constituency in 2024 is more disturbing than Trump winning 77 million votes
in particular I think that RFK played an outsized role in how many new voters went for Trump -- from Obama through Clinton and Biden, the sorts of loosely attached people who drop in and out of the electorate leaned Dem

RFK's appeal was strongest with these sorts of loosely attached weirdo voters

Took almost a decade but congrats to Leonard Leo on his deal with Donald Trump to ensure conservative dominance of the judiciary that ended with it being made totally superfluous as a branch of government.

This is cruel and pointless - a general amnesty must be part of the coming Restoration
Hard to watch: @newsweek.com posted footage of masked ICE agents arresting 50-year-old grandmother Angela Gonzalez, who'd been here since she was 11. She had a pending VAWA application, but other than that, had no options for a green card since she got here too late for the Reagan amnesty.

American civil society is full of abject cowards, that is the issue. The government is a mafia state but it is winning because most American elite institutions are devoid of anything resembling integrity and are folding rather than stand on principles that were little more than marketing.

the textbook market is many students’ first experience with predatory capitalism - you must have this thing, you can only get it from these sources, and it costs 10x what you’d expect to pay - that’s why libgen exists and always will in some form as long as such exploitation is allowed
