Real shame - it’s a fine building, though I suspect it’s probably deteriorated quite badly since it was closed.
Plans have been submitted to demolish East Kilbride's South Parish Church in order to build housing

Designed by architect Robert WKC Rogerson and opened in 1964, the unlisted church closed last year and was marketed for sale by the Church of Scotland in January

That is a wonderful interior
Its handsome septagonal chancel ceiling was described as "unique" in the sales brochure, but reports on the planning application describe the building, less than a year later, as "derelict" and in "disrepair".

"In another 50 years, we will be mourning what has been lost, instead of celebrating what has been saved"

Fiona Reynolds asks in a new Country Life article if the UK Govt of today will step-in to save churches like the govt of the 1970s saved country houses 👇

www.countrylife.co.uk/comment-opin...
The Labour government of the 1970s saved our country houses. Will a Labour government of the 2020s save our country churches?
Why not invest to save the most valuable community resources we have, perfectly placed at the heart of communities?
