The Art Deco brilliance of the former Beresford Hotel on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow looking at its best in today's sunshine. Built in 1937, it was designed by William Beresford Inglis, who later went on to manage and own it.

Dun Troddan Broch, one of two unusually well-preserved Iron Age brochs that stand south-east of Glenelg in Lochaber. Like the other 500 or so brochs found mainly in the north and west of Scotland, it was built some 2,000 years ago. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Kilchurn Castle, on a promontory - originally an island scarcely larger than the castle itself - at the north-east end of Loch Awe in Argyll. The earliest parts date back to 1450 and it was abandoned in 1760 after damage by lightning. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...
