I was born & raised in western Jutland, Denmark. I am now a Retired Sea Captain. I sailed for A. P. MØLLER-MÆRSK (Copenhagen) for 45 years all together. My hobby is photography and I intend to post many of my pictures on BLUESKY.
A jetty extending into the ocean in the Maldives.
The photo captures the calm waters and sky during the "blue hour," which is the period of twilight early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is below the horizon and the residual sunlight is predominantly blue 😊❤️

The best time to visit the Maldives is generally during the dry season, which runs from November to April. This period offers the most reliable weather for a tropical getaway 😊❤️

An assortment of freshly baked German bread was part of a high-end breakfast buffet in the Maldives.

The restaurant had hired a German baker to bake their bread - such as:

Bauernbrot (Farmer's Bread),
Roggenbrot (Rye Bread),
Baguettes/White Bread,
Vollkornbrot (Whole Grain Bread) 😊❤️

An engraved wooden plaque from the Komandoo Island in the Maldives.
The resort's official logo depicts a sea turtle.
This animal was chosen for the logo because the surrounding Lhaviyani Atoll is a renowned hotspot for sea turtles, particularly Hawksbill and Green sea turtles 😊❤️

The "Regina Mærsk" was a groundbreaking container ship that, upon its delivery in 1996, became the largest container vessel in the world.

It was the first of the "Post-Panamax" class vessels, meaning it was too wide to pass through the original locks of the Panama Canal 🇩🇰😊

The Leica Telyt-R 400mm f/6.8 is a long-focus, two-element lens.
By adding a Canon EF 2x extender, the effective focal length is doubled to 800mm, but this also reduces the maximum aperture by two stops, resulting in an effective aperture of f/13.6
The tripod mounting compensate for that 😊
