Not only no power of the purse language in a positive sense, they essentially spoke on the illegal SNAP withholding as an unfortunate but predetermined result of any shutdown.
Still upset about no power of the purse language. You truly do hate to see it. The Trump admin undertook the most expansive set of illegal budgetary actions of any president in history, and broadcast as loudly as possible they’d keep doing it, and nothing. Budgetary lawlessness.

King: So I believe that we are closer tonight to a vote on the ACA tax credits than we were this morning. This agreement tonight is a win for the American people.

This is killing me they keep talking about the withholding of SNAP as if it's a normal result of the shutdown. For the love of god at least use this time to mention that your opposition is CHOOSING not to pay out SNAP.
So Sen. King decided to vote in favor of this cave because the president was illegally withholding SNAP, and because he thinks it's likely that the house will be able to get together a discharge petition to vote on ACA subsidies??

At this point, anyone—a university, a law firm, a corporation, a Democrat—bending the knee to Trump is doing it because they want to, not because of any political reality.

My take that nobody cares about is that as more people who came of age during the social media era run for office, we will have to rethink purity tests and be a bit more forgiving. But, I draw a line at any connection to Nazism.

If liberals like Ezra are saying that someone who called for Gay people to be stoned, trans people to be lynched, Black people to accept police violence and women to obey did politics "the right way", that is in some respects more alarming that the bloviation of the far right. Bend that knee, Ezra.

There’s a way to be respectful in reporting on Charlie Kirk being shot while also refusing to whitewash who he was and what consequences his political activism has had. Obituaries for public figures are a part of history.

Excellent response from Hasan Piker, who was scheduled to debate Charlie Kirk in two weeks. On his stream he said: “The reverberation of people seeking out vengeance in the aftermath of this violent, abhorrent incident is going to be genuinely worrisome.” Also talked about his own vulnerability

Political violence is bad. It usually begets more political violence.

Celebrating political violence is bad. It usually encourages more political violence, against various targets.

Campus shootings are bad. They make everyone on campus less safe.

It's bad that what I wrote here is controversial.

What Noem is doing here is creating a deliberate conflict between Article I and Article II. She is saying that despite a law duly passed by Congress barring her from this exact action, she can deny access to Members of Congress anyway "to protect the President's Article II authority."

if it wasn’t already clear to you before, it should be clear to you now, that current dem leadership has opted into a strategy of waiting out trump’s term. maybe they get some power after the midterms but it’s clear where it will be wielded: to bargain and compromise, not in oversight.
Hakeem Jeffries: "The Trump administration bears the heavy burden of explaining to the American people why this military action was undertaken."
