Since I’ve started following half of BlueSky, I should probably introduce myself. I’m a mom of three (one of whom told me I needed to be less li-turd-gical), Episcopal seminarian, proud Choctaw, former school board prez, pro-liberation. I think you can be radical like Jesus and pastoral, too.

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

A society that does not believe in community, in creatureliness, in finitude, in limits and boundaries, in vulnerability, and in mutual dependence will yield increasingly pathetic attempts at immortality projects such as this.

📽️ WATCH: Andry Omar Blanco Bonilla, one of the men Trump sent to CECOT, told our reporters he was beaten the moment the plane landed.

He says when he regained consciousness and saw the polished concrete floor, the bright lights, the men in uniform, he just asked God: What am I doing here? Why?

#ICYMI: We obtained internal data showing the Trump administration knew at least 197 of the men it sent to CECOT had not been convicted of crimes in the U.S.

Nearly half were whisked out of the U.S. while in the middle of their immigration cases, which should have protected them from deportation.

I got blocked for the first time on Bluesky today, y'all! It was for daring to suggest that perhaps focusing exclusively on "moderates" was not going to be the winning strategy for the Democrats moving forward. I would, naturally, have no idea about how this works. 🙃

Honestly, I'm dead chuffed.

More and more people are going to be drawn into working for this disastrous and morally ruinous system of immigration enforcement as its budget is supercharged, and the church must must must exhort those people to repent. Be specific, be clear, call for repentance. ⚓

This, and a message to my fellow ministers, pastors, priests, spiritual leaders, deacons, caregivers, and/or related people: Remember to take care of yourself as well, and build up your support group so that you have people to hand the rock off to when you need it.
Please believe me when I tell you:

Double the fuck down on your spiritual practice now.

You are going to need it.

And no, that doesn't have to be a prayer-god thing.

The thing that sustains and nourishes you.

That makes you more alive to yourself, the world, others.

More present.

Then they do and it’s washed away by the firehose of noise. I call it Jim Mattis Syndrome.

CLARIFICATION :

The Trevor Project's hotline will still be live. But basically this means LGBTQ people can no longer be connected to it through the US national 988 suicide prevention hotline.

They will need to be contacted DIRECTLY

So spread this around

They can be texted. They can be called.
