I didn't do very well with this last year, and I might not do very well with it this year either, but here's a list of the books I've read this year...
For the past few years I've set myself reading goals at the beginning of the year for how many books I want to read each year. This year I've decided not to do that as, whilst it was helpful initially, it's now become a chore and I've been planning my reading according to what will... (1/?)

This would be an amazing merch idea for #birminghammuseumandartgallery - they could sell Christmas tree toppers of Jacob Epstein's Lucifer. I'd definitely want one at the top of my tree!

I want to get a Christmas tree topper like this but a BOY angel, and they just don’t seem to exist? Like fuck Michael and Gabriel I guess

I saw my first bumblebee of the year yesterday, and today I saw my first butterflies and chiffchaffs of the year - it's officially spring!

Hello. Are there are LGBTQ artists on here that could help create a bespoke poster for me?

It's a gift and it would be a ticket of an event we went to in the middle and then references to the show we saw around the outside.

dm me and let me know costs, time etc

Thank you 🤠

For International Women's Day, is it too much to ask for the power (and time) to read all of the books that I will ever want to read and learn all of the things I will ever want to learn?

Good news!
Purbeck Heath nature reserve has four beavers - the first to be legally released in England.
They can roam free, with no fenced enclosures, because it is full of lakes and watercourses for the beavers to make their home.

I got to preview this exhibition today and it's absolutely worth a visit! I didn't really know much about Rembrandt's art, so this was an excellent introduction to his work as well as a brilliant display of his etchings. If you get the chance, definitely check it out!!
The exhibition 'Rembrandt: Masterpieces in Black and White' at Birmingham Museum and Gallery opens tomorrow, 6th of March, and runs until the 1st of June: www.birminghammuseums.org.uk/exhibitions/...

DNF'd my first book of the year yesterday. I don't want to DNF books too often, but I do need to remember that it is a valid option for books that aren't doing it for me for whatever reason. I have so many books to read, so why waste my time on ones that I'm not enjoying or benefitting from?

@benjiw.bsky.social was right - the National Theatre production of The Importance of Being Earnest was fabulous! I'm not sure quite how, but they made Oscar Wilde more camp! Ncuti Gatwa was, unsurprisingly wonderful, but Sharon D Clarke stole the show as Lady Bracknell!

Allies, friends, please please sign this to complaint ti GB News to OFCOM, a deeply offensive homophobic slur.

This stuff is happening in broad daylight again on national television.

Don't let it happen, send a message.
On 22 January, GB News presenter Josh Howie repeated a homophobic slur linking the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia. This is offensive, wrong and unlawful. Join me and @GoodLawProject to file a complaint to Ofcom  action.goodlawproject.org/ofcom-stop-g...

I'm aware of AccessAble (previously DisabledGo) and Changing Places, but keen to hear of other useful ones.

On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, everything that led to the Holocaust is in danger of being forgotten.
The Nazis channeled the demands of oligarchs, scapegoated minorities and replaced democracy with a new imperium. Those politics are returning.
