Yet fewer companies are raising money, as giants like OpenAI and Anthropic dominate. The AI boom is concentrated in just a handful of players

Kagi, while certainly not perfect and frustration-free, is fundamentally so much better than 'free' search engines 👌.

May be I’m just a weirdo, I like both my friends and political leaders to challenge me and change my opinion (with good arguments) - not meekly agree to whatever I think is right.
Interracial marriage did not cross 50% approval in the US until 1996, when I was 30 years old. Good political messaging drives opinion, it doesn't follow it.

You never needed an army of developers. In fact, after about 20 or so of good engineers, the overhead of managing a large team - tools, processes, managers - not to mention the inefficiencies, duplicative work …etc. just didn’t add any tangible benefit.

@reckless.bsky.social people have defended Apple in the past or suggested it was the privacy restrictions Apple puts on itself that’s the cause for a dumb Siri. Absolutely not! Siri couldn’t add time to an existing timer. It can understand what I’m saying perfectly fine.
I didn’t think Siri could get dumber and yet

@aptshadow.bsky.social I do really appreciate your books. I am a big fan of Children of Time. Definitely one of my all time favourites.
I just bought Elder Race and Shards of Earth on Kobo.

@reckless.bsky.social a few things I wish you went into the details - early on there was some competition in the distribution of digital goods - services, drm, pricing model. Eventually the industry settled into the profit sharing, drm locked model for most good.

The median age of first-time homebuyers hit 38 last year, up from 29 in 1981. It’s not the only milestone once common by 30 that’s now delayed.

While millennials face criticism for their choices, the truth lies in structural challenges today that didn’t exist for their parents in the 1980s.
