Rand Paul: "After seeing this, if you call this a good shooting you aren't watching the video. This was a real tragedy and a mistake. The man had been disarmed and then shot 10 times ... if we say things that are obviously not true, the situation is going to get worse."

Sadly, his performative demeanor is rewarded. There is no value in virtue any longer. Unprincipled and corrupt is the new brand.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

This is all a long way of saying that *if* unmasking is going to produce social stigma, that stigma has to come from us.

People are not as horrified by white men’s violence as the people pushing this policy think they are.

All of these senators pushing "reforms" need to explain how they will enforce them given the fact that ICE is a lawless band of Klansmen that breaks the law constantly.
An extraordinary document. Read it.

“Attached to this order is an appendix that identifies 96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases. … ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

This is a scheduled pogrom
I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

I’m pretty sure we all heard Trump himself admit that Elon Musk rigged the vote for him - pair that with the pattern of every accusation is a confession, and I will probably always believe Kamala WAS elected. I don’t think myself a conspiracy theorist but then again what conspiracy theorist does?

Reading your gritty dystopian cyberpunk RPG and realising that with a very particular selection of moves and traits I can use your Sexy Angsty Combat Doll playbook without modification to produce a character with the exact personality and skill set of Inspector Gadget.

I am introducing the Cut It Out And This Time I Really Mean It bill. It provides an additional $57 billion to the murder goons but they will agree to wear business casual Monday through Thursday and if they do any murders they have to put a dollar in this jar.

Tim Pool: “I’m not licking the boot. It’s my boot. I voted for it. I’m the one stomping…”

This mindset is genuinely pathetic.

It’s an alpha fantasy: watching state violence and imagining you’re exercising power rather than the one submitting to it.

I find Gmail’s new “write this for me” feature deeply sinister. They’re trying to convince you that you are dumb and helpless. Don’t let them steal your ability to formulate thoughts and communicate. You were capable of writing an email in 2022 and you’re capable now.
