Turns out the events preceding the Butlerian Jihad were more of a Hanlon’s Razor situation all along.

i know a lot of people don't want to hear this but given the choice between voting for a leader who will commit violence against a large number of marginalized people and one who will only commit violence against a slightly smaller number, you have to opt for harm reduction and build two guillotines

Random conspiracy thought:

Antivax is promoted by vaccine producers because the losses from people falling for it are heavily outweighed by everybody else remembering to get their boosters when an outbreak hits.

Unlike Trump, the bullet meant for Lenin actually landed, and was before everything else dude goes on to talk about here.

Even worse… the non-zero chance that any old 4chan meme with terrible spelling was an Epstein creation.
I hate that this is all just easy to piece together from this guy's poorly-spelled emails

rhiannon: the UK left were saying this throughout the 2024 GE but it bears repeating that if your pitch is "the fascist policies of our opponents but more subtle, efficient and targeted" then you are the *Greater Evil* not the *Lesser Evil*

I hate how harm reduction had an actual meaning and purpose (eg safe injection sites, narcan) and then drug-hating carceral liberals hijacked it to mean "vote for a genocidaire because the other person is a genocidaire and also mean to me"

Democrats may think they are softening the message when they say things like "Abolish Trump's ICE" but this is a mistake.

The qualifier of "Trump's" shows a deflection of Dem responsibility for perpetuating this agency and funding it.

Because they never adopt the methodology of the people who were correct the whole time. So “next time” they’re wrong again until…

But they keep getting paid (instead of the people who were correct all along) to shape public opinion.
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

Just want to mention something, as someone who lives only blocks away from this morning’s tragedy:

If you think posting something cute, good, funny, wholesome, or otherwise irrelevant is a bad idea because of the moment, don’t be.

It is incredibly important to ease spirits and make people smile.

Lol.

1. Pretty sure the guy who drank himself into amnesia wasn’t doing great emotionally. Now he knew why.
2. If it was causal and not merely explanatory, making cops sad is a win for communism.
0.000% of Communism has been built. Evil child-murdering billionaires still rule the world with a shit-eating grin. All he has managed to do is make himself *sad*. He is starting to suspect Kras Mazov *fucked him over* personally with his socio-economic theory.

This would be far more outrageous if I hadn't seen cops all over the country doing this same thing non-stop for the last 20 years at almost every protest from anti-war demonstrations to Occupy to BLM to antifascist actions. This is and has always been America, not some special Trump-only horror.
Under Trump's watch, a DHS agent shot a protestor in the face with a non-lethal round at close range, fractured his skull, and then dragged him around as he choked and bled. He is now permanently blind in his left eye.

Can we talk about how Aldous Huxley wrote a more sophisticated dystopian novel, directly connecting fascism to capitalism when fascism was still in its infancy, than the other contemporary dystopian novel guy, who fought fascists, but decided to write anti-straw-communist fiction after the fact?
