the instrumental version of Yancey Boys remains my favorite instro hip hop album to drive around to. somehow this most “generic” sounding Dilla project really captures what was so special about his craft. #dilla

Kind of a drought in music every January. It used to be that mixtapes and lead up projects for larger summer albums would drop around this time, but so far it’s been quiet. Listening to Who Coppin by Larry June.

MF DOOM tributes a-plenty in this collab between Nowaah The Flood and former DOOM cohort XRAY (Monsta Island Czars). I always love Nowaah's grimy style, but XRAY's production makes this short project my favorite release of the last month.

I love instrumental hip hop, and this project from DJ SCRATCH NICE and Fitz Ambrose definitely lands in my top 10 instrumental projects of the year. Scratch Joints 4 sounds like a great project from ‘00s masters like 9th Wonder or Black Milk.
