I use Sunshine to stream my Linux desktop. There's a problem though, Sunshine doesn't wake my monitors from sleep when connecting.

I wrote a tiny software service to watch for these errors and wake the monitors for you: www.samurailink3.com/Sunrise-2b5b...

Just posted a new #PublicDomain model, a WIDE Pill Case: www.printables.com/model/149421...

It's all parametric, so you can easily make it fit your needs. Get the STEP files or Onshape link on Printables.

Hopefully someone finds it useful!

Just tried to unsubscribe from a local shop's emails and I get this message:

"You must have at least one marketing notification option enabled to participate in the loyalty program ... you will no longer be able to earn or use your points"

That's a great way to get a straight-to-spam email rule.

I just launched my first "game"/scam: pay2win.online

Its a "game" built on pay-to-win mechanics, but without any of that pesky "gameplay" getting in the way. Each $1 you pay is worth 100 points. The more you pay, the higher you land on the scoreboard.

Feel free to ask questions!

#DOOMTheDarkAges

Found this great article on disabling splash screens and the driver version warnings on boot. Very to-the-point writing. My only addition is I had to manually modify the NVIDIA driver version in the config file to get the launcher to stop complaining.

Preorders made sense back when cart/disk print runs were based on demand. It helped ensure the publisher didn’t make too many/too few copies.

Pre-ordering a digital-download makes zero sense. You’re basically gambling that the thing you bought will be worth it.

Stop, wait for reviews, then buy.
Pre-purchasing video games is just a way for companies to make sure they get your money before people see how bad their game is on release.

I said what I said.

Wrote a blog post about conflicting corporate mentalities that make me uncomfortable: Missionaries vs Mercenaries

Hopefully it isn’t too controversial or navel-gaze-y.

I have a confession: I just don’t like Monster Hunter Wilds. I enjoyed World, Generations Ultimate was fun, Rise was phenomenal.

I think the forced cutscene-follow_quest-cutscene structure is killing it for me. Additionally, the multiplayer system feels _really_ awkward.

Fucking 1000% agreed! Working helpdesk and IT gave me perspective on people, problems, and expectations I was _completely_ blind to.

As a senior software engineer at multiple leading tech companies, my helpdesk experience enables me to build better systems and be more empathetic towards my users.
Please imagine life outside the cybersecurity pipeline. I beg of you. Living is its own job experience. You can't follow my path, but I did Helpdesk for 10 years. I thought it was a shame. And now I'm proud of it and advertise. I didn't have the perspective to know what it gave me.
You don't either.

I've got another #3DPrinting blog post up, this time showcasing some utterly-deranged slicer hacks in a project I finished. I absolutely love how PrusaSlicer warned me about what I was trying to do, then just let me do it anyway.

The #3DPrinting gods have forsaken me. 26 hour print, ran out of filament with an hour left. Bed has been holding temp for a day since pausing the job.

Hopefully this new roll of filament will let me complete the print without any drama 🤞

Will update later!
